Chief Financial Officer A Very Special Place is a not for profit organization located on Staten Island, that provides services to people with developmental disabilities. Under the general direction of the Executive Director, you will oversee and manage the financial operations of this not-for-profit agency. In addition to oversight of the day-to-day operations, including AP, AR, GL, and Payroll. The CFO will be responsible for managing, claiming and reports for both public and private funding sources, including NYS Medicaid and contract claims and reports, NYC contract claims and reports and reports for corporate and foundation grants. You will prepare and manage the agencys operating budgets and will participate in agency-wide planning activities as a key member of the management team. You will identify, develop and and implement financial practices of the highest standards in the agencys financial activities. In this financial capacity you must ensure accurate financial reporting, manage cash flow, ensure compliance with state regulations and fiscal reporting, and interface with auditing staff to assist in preparation of applicable tax filing required by governmental agencies and other regulatory agencies, supervise investment of employers funds and interface with Board Members. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must possess a Masters degree in Business Administration or Finance, 10 yrs accounting background, with at least five in nonprofit accounting. Strong technical skills in Ms excel and accounting software. Successful management of staff. CPA license or Public Accounting experiences a plus. COMPENSATIONSalary is open and negotiable.
